Hi Guys
Recently been to Duxford, there is a great American Air Museum.
There is also a 'Counting the Cost' memorial sculpture outside; it is 52 glass panels (each panel is 4ft x 6.5 ft) and has each etched with the outlines of aircraft missing in action in operations flown by American air forces from Britain during the Second World War. 7,031 aircraft are depicted and represent losses incurred by the 8th United States Army Air Force (USAAF), 9th USAAF, and US Navy.
(1) F-22 Outside the American Air Museum
(2) Phantom and IMHO the coolest plane of the post WWII era. I think it is so amazing; used to have a 1/32 airfix one as a kid.
(3) An A10 Tankbuster (with a B52 bomber in the background in first pic). Would not want to look down the barrell of the gun in the second pic.
(4) Blackbird
(5) B24 and B25
(6) Flying Fortress
Cheers
