American Civil war Battles map (1 Viewer)

Does anyone know where I can buy a map of the United states that shows the major (and minor if they have them)battles of the Civil war.I'm not looking for a road map but a basic Historical map showing the battles in the different states.I know I can see them in books but I like to unfold a map and get an overview of the conflict.

Would very much appreciate any help guys as I can't seem to find a basic map laying it all out.

Hi Rob. Try locating the 1969 National Geographic book, The Civil War, written by Robert Paul Jordan, This publication came with a 2-sided fold out map called Battlefields of the Civil War. It is seperate from the book so make sure any copy you are inquiring about still has it folded inside. It is an outstanding map though it is a bit "busy" because of all the info crammed into it. It shouldn't be expensive. -- Al

I know what you mean Brad,its frustrating because you only get a feel for the sheer scale of the war when you can look at all the battles across the states.

I remember as a small kid my first visit to the states.Someone gave me a map (aimed at kids)and it was the whole of the US with all the Historical events,Battles,massacres etc there before me.I loved that map and it really helped kick start my interest in History,never knew what happened to it. but even that would help right now!
