Does anybody make ACW era civilians? I want to make a diorama and I want to put some woman and children in it. They won't be under fire. I see that Britains has a 1860s petticoat collection figure coming out and I'll probably buy that one, and William Hocker has a few sets that I could use, but I like to paint my own and plastic is much cheaper. Any ideas?

If plastic is OK, I suggest Replicants figures of WildWest people.

They fit in well with 54 mm. I carefully remove the Lemax bases with a jewelers saw and use a a base that matches the military figures. Bases from TSSD figures work well for me.

These examples are later 1800s, but Lemax has "Dickensians" too that will fit in with CW

I'll be buying the Replicant lady with baby and the "Abe and the Lady" figures. I think I'll paint the gentleman in loud colors and plaid pants like they wore in "Gangs of New York". I'll also buy the Irmie/Risley woman in street clothes. I had never seen the P & P figures before, they look really good. He takes the trouble to put realistic reigns and harness on the animals. Awesome. I wish he had more photos on the web site. Most of the LEMAX that I saw on the web search that were in the right time period were wearing winter clothes. I'll keep my eyes open and use them for a different project.
