Do you think Andy will make a new American landingcraft to complement the British one for the landings on DDay
Was there any free French that landed that day to free there own country

Yes,free french Commandos of No 10 Inter Allied Commando landed on British beaches(Ouistreham) and French paras part of the British Special air Service were also part of the Airborne assault.Free French 2nd armoured division also landed on Utah beach on 1st August.

It would be great to have more US landing craft, but don't forget that British LCAs carried US troops on June 6, 1944 along with US landing craft. There were some LCAs on Omaha Beach and many carrying the 2nd Rangers at Pointe Du Hoc.

You can use this boat for several applications.

By the way, if you want French troops liberating their homeland don't limit yourself to Normandy. On 15 August 1944 there was Operation Dragoon in southern France. US troops for Vi Corps formed the initial assault elements but French troops soon joined them and liberated Marseilles and Toulon. The French troops wore US uniforms with French insignia, so you can create a scene of French infantry splashing ashore.

Well said Gary,its not well known that Brits died or were stuck on Omaha when the LCA's they were delivering US Troops in were hit or sunk,many unarmed sailors had to survive the best they could on that awful beach on that terrible day.

Yep, that is what I am doing with my LCA - it is unloading 2nd Rangers. I still may change to Canadians though if I move the Rangers into a bunker attack diorama.
