This western series on Netflix looked promising. It has a sort of grim, realistic "Blood Merdian" feel, but the acting is awful. And the plot is laughable with the typical woke historical revision. They stick it to the Mormons. I can just see the Hollywood writers conjuring up the 18th Century Mormons. Think Trump supporters they tell themselves. The Native Americans, however, were apparently a progressive group of feminists who just wanted peace even as they were slitting the throats of women and children. Just misunderstood. And on and on. It's not very good.

"The Thicket" is a decent western on Tubi. It's no masterpiece but Juliette Lewis looking whiskey rough and Peter Dinklage from Game of Thrones make it worth watching.
