I took my 6 year old daughter to Toys R Us today to reward her for performance in her soccer game today (she rocked, 2 SWEET goals, an assist and tremendous defense!! Plus, she knocked a couple other girls to the ground!! )
Anyway, I was looking at some of the FOV stuff and the MacFarlane's figures when I noticed these NEW figures!! They are 1:18th scale. I looked closer at them and noticed that they were characters that were from the America's Army video game- this is a free video game given to recruits and so forth (as if you don't get enough fun being a soldier in real like, the army will also let you "play" one too)
So, I take a closer look at these guys- they are actual REAL soldiers who were awarded medals for courage under fire!!1 What a neat idea!! And these aren't like General Franks or Gen Petraeus figs but actual Joes. The idea was to use the video game to help attract the video game group. Not sure how these figures work- I wonder if they get a cut of the proceeds???? especially since this is an official DOD product- I hope the government hooked them up somehow for this.
I found this link from our friends at the BBC

The figures are very well done and I think they retailed for $5.99 each. Would have snagged them but the wife was with me- she still hasn't forgiven me for the HB Jagdpanther I bought this week !!
STANDS ALONE!!
