Although purchased over a year ago, I finally got this beauty back from R&R (Repairs/Restorations). I was fortunate enough to have picked this gun up around the beginning of December of 2014. The gun was in dire shape. Pieces were missing (and still are), parts were broken & the gun was in three pieces. I can not begin to tell you how incredibly fragile the gun is. I have not weighed it, but can not imagine that it is much more than 10-12 ounces. It is about 7" long and around 4" high.

My repair guy did a great job. There are a couple of areas that where the gun is damaged and was left as purchased in 2014. I debated as to whether I should paint those areas to make them look like "combat damage" or do a drastic repair. In the end, the repair was done to the extent of not adding anything that was not there originally. I believe that this gun was produced by King & Country sometime prior to 1996. The material is not wood - but I think this was produced during the time that K&C was producing wooden planes and vehicles.

I hope to sell it some time in the future, but as it is so fragile, I will not ship the gun - so I am sure it will stay in my collection. I just photographed the gun in the last couple of hours and have already found a nice display place in my curio.

Enjoy!

Very nice. Larry had one like this (unless this is his) and I'm sure Louis must have one.

This came out of a collection in Asia. Actually the seller told me that he was good friends with Andy many moons ago. He has been selling off his collection of early King & Country and I have been fortunate enough to have picked a piece or two from him.

I've never saw Larry's in person, but have seen images of his gun with the Prime Mover (which I also was able to acquire in this collection). Larry's Flak gun seemed to me to be in nicer condition than the one that I have.

Peter,

Larry's is shown in his albums. I'm guessing Hans still has it. According to a exchange Larry had with another member only 20 were made.

If there were only 20 made, I can't imagine that more than a handful still exist. This gun was made to break quickly & easily. I don't think that these had any special box designed for this specific item. When I was driving home with the gun this morning, I told my wife that there was an outside chance the gun would not survive the car ride home.

the first 88 was made of extremely fragile material. the barrels had a tendency to warp. As I recall in the first arnhem colored picture/broshure there was a abandoned prime mover and the 88 was attached to the PM. I became a K & C dealer Oct 1 2000 and over dinner with Andy after the OTSN He told me that the 88 was never put into production. I asked him if he had a 88 available and it was included in my first legit dealer shipment. My guess is there were only a few made? My opinion. I believe Hans bought the 88 from me.

I believe it was Larry's (although Hans may have one too). At any rate, it's in his possession now.
