Thought I'd share some pics detailing my current obsession with converting Ancient Germans from Weston Mexican Peasants.
I have several units of TSSD Germans and wanted a few more warbands that looked different to represent other tribal contingents hence these conversions.
The Weston Peasants are good value and easily available figures that paint up very nicely and convert well.
Super Glue holds the cut up pieces together very solidly which makes everything easier as no need for pinning etc...
The troops are based 3 up on 7cm plastic building card squares that are around 2mm thick. 12 stands to a unit.
Mainly home made shields and bought in spears from Fireforge Games.
I am also working on Gallic and Dacian armies using these Weston figures to fight my A Call to Arms and Italeri Roman armies.
