G'day from the land of the long white cloud.
This is my first post on the newly discovered (by me) Treefrog forum. What a resource and mine of information. I am an expat from the UK living for the past four years in Greytown New Zealand. This small town boasts having two toy soldier manufactures with Imperial Productions (and their small shop just off the main street). Also Regal Enterprises (with one of the brothers living only a 5 minute walk from my house). We have spent many Saturday mornings together discussing all things toy soldier from a New Zealand perspective.
Malcolm from new manufactures Empire got me onto the site by posting pictures I took of the WW1 Belgians he had recently sent me.
Anyway I thought I would post some pictures of what might be some more unusual figures. Of course these figures may well have been covered by posts long ago.
First up some matte painted Regal WW1 Maori troops. Then some Gary Hunt (sculptor who works for Weta - Hobbit and Lord of the rings fame) figures matte painted by Regal. 1st to 7th century Peruvians and c13th century Pacific Island warriors are shown.
Let me know what you think and if you would like to see some more images of other figures from Gary Hunt and or Regal.
