Curious if anyone collects these figures, and if so, what is the story with their production line. Do they come painted or is that done seperately? Also, is there a good place in the US to buy these figures? I saw a few on a russian site that look fantastic. My greatest frustration with KC is a lack of diversity in the WWII line and focus on diorama friendly sets. I like the individual figures that have a little more character.

Combat,
Do you have a picture of this Andrea that you are referring to?
There's a spanish manufacturer called Andrea Miniatures and produces mainly white metal, unpainted, kits. And recently they too started to offer painted ones, using their existing kits. I think they only have around 10 pcs from the original manufacturer.
Hope we are talking about the same product.

Andrea has branched out into the pre-painted figure market. They offer figures that are painted (same fig that comes in kit form) and packaged in a clear blister pack. I have seen a few of them and they look well done but, the blister packaging makes it hard to tell (it doesn't show the figure off as well as they might want it to).

I once considered "Conquistador" by Andrea Miniatures but the cost of assembled and painted is quite prohibitive. Before they used the Euro standard, it was quite affordable since the dollar converted higher vs the Piseta. Andrea is manufactured in Madrid,Spain. You can buy this direct either in unassembled or assembled and painted (quite expensive though).

From my research on the product, figures painted by the factory command a better re-sale price compared to DIYS (do it yourself).

Yes, we are talking about the same product.
Their size is 54mm, 1/32. Some of their early WWII are 1/35.

Yes, some are 1/32 and 1/35. I painted this one and its 1/35.

http://stores.ebay.com/Toy-Soldiers-of-ReneClub_W0QQssPageNameZstrkQ3amefsQ3amesstQQtZkm This is a link to a seller on ebay that paints and sells castings and he always has andrea castings for sale and the painting is very detailed great quality. I won a bid on one of his figures and the paint job was just as good as the photo paint job. There a little high in price but when you think about the price of a kit and the time it takes to paint them its not that bad a deal.

The Andrea WWII and other figures on the Elenmodels site are well done. I think there is a real market for a mid-priced competitor to the russian made figures. So hopefully a US dealer will pick up on these. KC has the diorama market covered, but some popular figures cannot be produced within that business model. I think they are edging that way with the FOB series, but even so it is unlikely to get a Kamikaze pilot or u-boat captain anytime soon from KC if the accompanying vehicle is unrealistic to produce.
