Andy is Coming to the Show in Boston in July (1 Viewer)

For those of you who have an interest in meeting and getting to know the man behind King & Country, as I mentioned a while ago on another thread, Andy Neilson will be coming to the Toy Soldier Show in Boston from July 1-5, 2005. I will be going (I never pass on a chance to spend a little time with Andy, a good friend and very interesting individual), and if any of you in the tri-state area are interested in going, get in touch with me. Andy always brings some of the soon to be released products to these shows, so its a chance to get a sneak preview as well. Hope to see you there.

How big is that show? What does it compare to?

Dear Bill,

I have no idea about the comparative size of the show. I suspect it must be a fairly big show to interest Andy, but the person to check with would be Matt Murphy from the Hobby Bunker. He could fill you in about the show, as he goes to virtually all the major shows, and this one is in his home court.

I usually see Matt whe he comes to South Florida for our show. I'll call him and see what he has to say.

I think it's going to be big because a lot of the modelers who normally go to Valley Forge decided to bypass Valley Forge this year (which is why the show is moving to Delaware in 2006) and go to Boston instead.

Unfortunately, I'll miss it as we'll be on vacation at the time.

I've never been to Boston so maybe I'll see if I can attend. It's always nice to talk to Andy he has so much to say.

Louis, will Andy also be OTSN? I'm hoping to sandwich that show in IF schedule permits. Can't do anything on the east coast this year.

If the OTSN is the Chicago show, then yes, Andy goes every year.

I've met Andy at Chicago the last 3 years and it's always been a real treat. As a matter of fact the first time I met him he invited Shannon and myself up to his room to see some of the new Blitzkrieg series in preproducion.

Andy is always a lot of fun. He is a fascinating guy, who has done just about everything from being a trained graphic artist involved in advertising through being a Royal Marine comando to a Hong Kong Police Inspector, Pub Owner, and finally, co-founding and operating the most successful toy soldier company in the world today. And, at Chicago, he always has a few choice sneak preview photos and items (like the resin pre-production Bulge figures at the last show) in his room to show off. Its great fun.
