Just found out from the promoter, thank Christ as that drive down the coast would have been nothing short of an adventure for me, not to mention the difficulty of the collectors in getting there.

Next show is in June, this was the wise choice.................

Sorry for the misinformation, next show date at Annandale is actually May 31st, it will probably be 102 in the shade by then.

Sorry to hear about the cancellation, but it was the wisest thing to do. Having run a few shows in the past, I can testify as to the considerable effort to get such a production going. My sympathy to all those who worked so hard to make the show possible. Perhaps later in the year . . .

The promoter of this show has an aggressive show schedule, so he's covered, to a degree. I feel sorry for promoters of annual shows, who have to cancel. The Atlanta Military Figure Society's annual show was scheduled for this weekend, and they had to cancel because of the ice storm that blew through. And the hurricane forced cancelling the East Coast (Hackensack) show in 2012. And I feel for the collectors and fans, of course, since the annual shows are more of an event, and it's a little sad to have to miss one.

Prost!

Bummer - was really looking forward to that. Thanks for letting us know. I would have been even more bummed to go out early to find it was cancelled.

Sorry about the cancellation, hope to see you at the May 31st show.

Here in MA, they were calling for a dusting to 2 inches tomorrow; now the latest is a classic blizzard, hitting us about 1:00PM and going till midnight or so, 6 to 12 inches is expected.

Wonderful.

That would be been a joy for me to come home to on Sunday.

Really, REALLY getting sick and tired of this.

They've revised the forecast; now they are calling for 12 to 18 inches where I live, the so called "jackpot" area.

Yep, great, we've hit the snow jackpot.

Have I told everyone how sick I am of winter yet?

Its warm in the "Deep South" today. Snowmaggedon II is history. :wink2:

FYI, the Deep South is grossly deficient in terms of toy soldier shops/stores. Particularly the Atlanta area, which has ZIP. It is also a top ten city in terms of population, with many transplants from all over, and a growing city. Closest TS shop would probably be Troops of. Time in Jville Fla. There used to be a small shop in Charleston SC but it closed.

Could be an opportunity for an enterprising and experienced TS dealer?. I mean there are major dealers in MN, CA, TX and New England. Why not GA? Cost of living much cheaper here than northeast or CA. Atlanta is relatively central location for the area too, lots of transport available.

Now pro sports teams we are lacking. I admit. But otherwise....Just saying.....
