Another ebay headache! (1 Viewer)

Won 6 figures from the same seller. I requested a combined shipping invoice. He responded just pay the full amount and I'll refund you $50 to cover the extra shipping. He has 100%, 800 feedback. So I paid. He then responds send me a request for $50 so he can refund me. Now the picture is becoming clear he is either going to keep the $50 or he simply does not know how to do the above. I think the latter. Again ebay amazes me with what can frustrate a person.

Did you tell him to go to PayPal and use the refund option.

if your messages are via Ebay's message system...
then they are documented and Ebay will get you your money...
still...
as Brad says...
tell him to use the Paypal refund tab...
it's pretty easy and the quickest fix...

Mike I did tell him how to use the paypal refund. Today he contacted me thru facebook and I talked to him by phone. I was right he can't figure out how to do the refund. I'm not worried about not getting my money since I talked to him but he sounded like a young guy meaning he should be computer savy.

Gary...I would refuse any mode of communication except Ebay's message system...unless he has already stated on Ebay's message system that he will refund you...I would prefer that comment documented in a place where Ebay/Paypal can see it...still...young or old...the Paypal refund is pretty frickin' simple...you get more than your share of weirdos...^&grin

I whole heartedly agree about confining communications to the eBay system; that way eBay has a complete picture of the problem. They won’t get that if it’s half and half.

I would not make that assumption.

I second Brad, Michael, and the others who advise you to make sure communications are through eBay's system. Even if you now have to send redundant messages, I would do so. I'd frame them, as "Hi, so-and-so, just to confirm, you're going to refund me via PayPal?" or some similar formula.

I totally agree and yes there are messages on ebay message that he is to refund me the $50 so that is covered.
I will say this over the years you learn to ***** what is BS and what is straight and I'm 99% sure this guy is straight.

I got my refund today. He still could not figure out how to use paypal refund. He did it somehow thru using facebook. Go figure.
