Last weekend was special - not only was it my son's second birthday, but it was the first time I gave soldiers to someone. Although my son is still too young for figures, my friend was able to fly up from down south and her boy is old enough for plastics, so I put together a special gift bag for him. I picked out a few Napoleonics, some AWI guys and a few WWII troops and wrote their descriptions on the base bottoms. While driving them to the airport I gave the bag to his mom, who made the classic parental tactical move of withholding them until needed as diversions during the flight. Alas, I did not see his reaction when he received them but Mom said he was pleased and especially enjoyed miring a Hessian in a Play-Doh swamp. I plan to give him the address to the site as soon as he can type - which, given his level of maturity, will be in about a month.
