This is one of those times where I am with out a smart alec comment. I cannot for the life of me see how this set could possibly be worth this kind of money. Can one of you King and Country Pros give a more realistic price range for this set?

I would say $250 to $300. Two bidders decided to go mano a mano and the seller is the winner.

It is amazing that anyone would want to hold onto their collections in the face of this kind of temptation. The question is, can this market crash ? Michael

It's unbelievable isn't it? I think, Michael, you had a comment recently about K & C collectors having lost our minds or something like that. What's interesting is that the winning bidder hasn't really been involved with toy soldiers until very recently as I can see. I wonder if this person is a collector or speculator. If the latter, I don't see how you could make a profit on resale.
But what do I know?

Hi Brad,

I have to say that this could in fact hurt resale values in the short term especially if people put things up for resale with lunatic reserve prices. But it may well be an anomaly and just was a case of two guys needing to complete their series run and have the cash to do it. I guess the only way to test this is to sit and watch the next auction from this run and see where it goes.

Agree with you. My EA07 sold for $430,00 and, less than a month ago, another seller wasn't able to have even one bid at a starting price of $275,00. The same seller started it at $250,00 yesterday.
