Any fellow collectors in Western Mass? (1 Viewer)

Hi There, There are several collectors in the state, I grew up in Great Barrington. Where are you because there are a lot of guys in the Boston Area which while its not in WMass its close.

Dave

Very Cool to meet a fellow collector from my old state. If you get a chance contact PJDeluhery here on TF he is in your neck of the woods and would probably enjoy meeting you. What do you collect, All naps or just one battle or are you into more than your name eludes too?

Looking forward to some discussions.

Dave

PS if you are into Britains and ever get to Great Barrington there is an actual store there called Toms Toys on Main street that sells Britains and usually has some interesting items in stock.

Not to direct you away from this forum, but you might want to check Hobby Bunker's forum, too. Some of the same folks from here, are members of Hobby Bunker's forum, and there seems to be an active community of collectors of all stripes up there. I'm not sure that they divide themselves by Eastern and Western Massachussetts, but rather, they draw from all over the area.

Hope that helps, prosit!
Brad

There are several on here. I know one is PJDeluhery. I think they have a club and have meetings. I recall them being in Springfield or Wilbraham, which is only a short drive for you (I went to Law School up at WNEC).

Pat (PJ) and some other collectors (Don Johnson, AJ LaFleche) are members of the Wings & Wheels Modelers Club, if I remember correctly, and their website is: http://www.wwmodelclub.org/index.htm

They're the "Hawaiian Shirt Mafia", that's how you recognize them at the various shows. They're all active on the figure painter forums, too, such as PlanetFigure and TimeLines/Historica, so you may have "met" them online.

Hobby Bunker's forum is at http://www.hobbybunker.com/forum, too.

Hope that helps, prost!

Thanks, Brad and you others. I finally found this thread.

Yes, I'm from W. Springfield. There is another here, whdamon, who is from Wilbraham. There are others of us locally as well. Some lurk here.

We have a toy soldier enthusiast club which caters to the Connecticut Valley area - Ct Valley Miniature Figure Collectors Club. We also have displayed in the past at the Ct Valley Historical Museum in Springfield.

PM me if you'd like to meet up or come to our next meeting.

I collect Britains' Napoleonics, but also miscellaneous Britains stuff. I have 200+ soldiers (almost every MATT Napoleonic they have made and counting), and an extensive buildings/scenery collection. My coolest piece is the village idiot, which I got for $15 from some antique dealer. I love everything Napoleonic, and reenact the American War of Independence (private, Rhode Island United Train of Artillery).

He wouldn't happen to have another one would he ? :D

Well he says he does, and I am in the process of buying them. So if he finds them, there will be some on ebay... But I think he might have lost them:mad::( so you shouldn't get your hopes up:(

Thats a great piece, I love the quirky look on the village idiot and would grab one up in a minute at that sort of price!

Dave

Idiot: A great piece, and VALUABLE too! Where's that dealer? I'd like one as well.
