Are there any members of the forum who are collectors of The Great War range from First Legion? I am considering starting this range myself and would love to see what the opinions are. I would also love to see some collection photos if some of you don't mind. The French 155mm artillery set is simply breathtaking and would be high on my list. I only have two pieces of World War I in my collection and they are older sets by King & Country.

I had considered the WWI range as well but I already collect too many FL ranges to keep up with another one.....I may consider it in the future

I have a few of the French and the Germans. They are very nice figures but I haven't purchased any more. The range doesn't strike me as one FL is overly committed to unlike JJD, for example.

Actually Brad, There are quite a few FL figures available in this range.....IMO FL did released a fair amount of German, French and British soldiers for WWI in a relatively short time frame...My guess is that sales of existing products are a bit sluggish and that we will not see too much more unless interest increases in WWI evidenced by increase of sales

I agree Frank, they did have a few releases but, as you said, none recently. This seems to be a market captured principally by JJD. Now that I've said that, I'm sure Matt will come on and announce a forthcoming release ^&grin

Hope you are well and Happy Easter to you and your family.

Brad

Thanks for the replies so far! I would love to hear from Matt where they plan on going with this range. If I did start a Great War collection it would be modest and not something I would plan on adding a huge amount to. BUT...with that being said I could easily see myself purchasing most of the releases that are out thus far. It just would not be as extensive as my American Civil War and World War II collection.

WBitains has an extensive range of WWI British and German infantry (although many retired) and some good artillery. WB is compatible with FL in size but painting not quite as good.
For tanks, support vehicles and airplanes JJD is the most prolific supplier.

I have a small but decent collection of WW I from many makers and if you're interested in WW I, I'd take a look at Jenkins, Britain's, K & C and TG. I find that Jenkins, K & C and TG are pretty compatible with each other.
