Hi all,

We have this thread on the Canada forum and have alot of fun with it, so figure I would post one here as well, it serves well for general conversation on what you may have or plan on having to purchase next, also other collectors can give you feedback on sets/ranges that you may post here that they already have...Sammy

I'm having a hard time deciding what to purchase next?? I really need to get my winter Opel as it's been out there for awhile and would hate to see it retired before I bought it, same goes for the Stalingrad BMW/bike with riders, but then the new SS fellows are wispering in my ear:) also over in the corner the last few sets of winter Russians are calling me:) any advice First Legion collectors??...Sammy

Looking to add some union artillery...although those waffen ss do look spectacular. Although they might not be there this weekend! :) Brad

I need to finish up What I want from the Red Lancers, Hopefully by the time I finish up with that The N.V.A. will be out, And start planning on What I am getting, the three that is shown at the work bench, will be a great start!.

I think the N.V.A. line will do very well, the 3 shown on the work bench are some great looking sets, and will really add some looks to the Vietnam range.

Also sounds like the SS range is really taking off, haven't heard anything but good things from those who have recieved them so far, I'll get my first sets this Saturday and see for myself...Sammy

Hi Sammy,
My thoughts for you would be to go with the oldest release first and just add one WSS figure with your order as the Waffen SS figures will be around for awhile and you don't wanna be looking to fill a void on the secondary market unless you really have to.. regards Gebhard

Any First Legion piece we decide will be awesome!!, But there will be all this great pieces, that will be going to the wayside.To maybe never buy. To choose now is hard, We as collectors has never been so spoiled with choices, as we are now. But not as spoiled as we are going to be in the future. But, always the dilemma would be. What are we going to miss on. I am not complaining, just stating the obvious. For it is a great hobby that we have. and I am enjoying every moment of it.

I have to agree. I joking have said on many occations to my dealer for him to pick because it is so hard to decide. :)

I just ordered a couple of the 18th line figures. For my next order I will probably be looking to pick up another Red Lancer or two. Or maybe some more foot figures. It's so hard to decide! They are all awesome!

Sammy get the Winter Opel first :wink2:. Gebs good advice :salute:: Start with the older sets and work your way thru the never-ending LIGHT!!!!!{sm3}

Neil :salute:::salute::

Gebs, Neil you both are correct so I will plan on the winter Opel next, and maybe toss in one or two SS with it:).

I would also like to mention I also agree on how good the First legion horses are done, the painting as well as the poses themselves are beautiful, I do not have any in my collection but wouldn't mind at least one stand alone piece, or better yet, how about some Russian infantry on horseback for WWII???:) or maybe even a Para, that would be absolutely delicious!!

Thanks for all the input fellows, this thread is off and running pretty well, sounds like alot of the First Legion collectors have some great sets planned for the future...Sammy

Actually Neil, in the 8-9 years that I have been collecting "metal" ranges this is about as much fun as I have had, I do not worry about is this or that going to be retired this year, also the WWII ranges are in full bloom now, Stalingrad kicked it off but now we have Paras, SS, DAK, winter Russians/Germans just alot of neat sets to pick from.. I also have Treefrog treasures that have a great layaway plan I can put as much or as little each week to pay off my order.

So with that being said, it's just fun to figure out what to get and see what new stuff is coming out on the work bench, speaking of new stuff Matt and co. usually release some new goods before the Chicago show, so let's hope we see a newsletter in the near future...Sammy

P.S. Russian winter infantry on horseback!!

Sammy...General Reynolds is calling your name...!!!!!!!!!! Brad :)

Neil,
I too cannot wait to pick up General Dorsenne myself. That being said I believe I'll wait and ask the wife for a few Old Guard and their commander for Christmas. He truly is a magnificient figure!
