They have some cool walks. I might try to head down there today after work and get to some of the evening walks.

I drove through the battlefield yesterday and it was a bit more crowded than usual but nothing like last year. It's boiling hot today though. The local cable channel here film the daily park ranger walks and play them at night on comcast. Very informative and a lot cooler to watch than being there.

No offense to anyone, but I much prefer Gettysburg in the autumn. No crowds, beautiful landscape and trees, and, most importantly, NO HEAT! I'm too old and fat to sweat and enjoy it. Cool air and autumnal colors are where it's at.:wink2: -- Al

I agree, end of April early May, late September early October. Best times of the year.

Went down yesterday right before the rain hit and it was not crowded. On the battlefield now and it is surprisingly quiet. I suspect most are at the reinactmenta going on

Garrison Keillor is the featured speaker this year for 152nd anniversary of the Gettysburg address coming up this Thursday, Nov. 19. They usually do this in the National Cemetery but apparently have moved indoors due to forecast calling for rain. Not quite the same indoors but I'm sure it will be more comfortable.
