Anyone here have this? (1 Viewer)

I saw several auctions throughout the last couple of years, where James Opie's book was offered together with the 4 figures and in mint condition.
The prices were between $320.00 for the low and $600.00 for the high.
Mostly the book sold within the $400.00 range.
Also several times when it was offered with a "buy it now" option, the price was usually in the 400's.
This offer for $2,500.00  is absolutely ridiculous.

Hi,
THere are many copies of Opie's Britains toy soldiers available for purchase on www.alibris.com. Prices start at $150 and continue up to $600. The descriptions of this do not mention anything about the four figures.

Cheers,
Benjamin

This is more in line to what I was thinking too. It's a great book and the figures are unique to this set, but it not $2500 worth.

Yo Troopers, he is one of those guys just picks a number out of the phone book. I wouldn't buy it at $400 dollars even though it seems a great book. Thinks I could buy two cavalry sets for that price, I have Joe Wallis regiments of all nations and Geoff Duin's excellent site Roan so I can get by without it, I if I need anymore info just ask the Troopers on this Forum, they know everything, years of experience between them, so spend the dollars on more soldiers.
Bernard.

I haven't followed auctions of this book that closely -- but my recollection is that on one occasion it sold for $700. I have never seen it go higher.
