I bought these around 20 years ago or so at Chicago from what I seem to remember was a younger George.:)
Would anyone know who made them? The paint is a home job I assume by the quality and there is a makers mark on the bottom but it's hard to see.

You're right, Louis! Now that you mention Hiriart, I can see it in the mark.

Looking in Diego Lescano's "Hiriart Toy Soldiers", I found The motorcycle rider as part of set 1056 Estado Mayor aleman, German General Staff, WWII. The helmeted rider is a variation. Given the possibility of placing special orders, it's possible that someone ordered a set of German motorcyclists.

Mike Tarantino would be better able to tell us about these.

Prost!

Thank you guys. I’ve always liked them. Would I be right that they are a self painted set then ?

I'm not sure what you mean by "self painted", but no, they come from Hiriart as finished, painted figures, not as castings. Hiriart figures are finished in a style close to classic gloss toy soldier style, with somewhat simple detailing.

Prost!

Younger chronologically or maturity levelwise…………..because chronologically, yes, but maturity level is a whole other ball of wax...……….{sm4}
