Been thinking for a while about future caeer choices and I'm exploring all possible options, and I also have a meeting with a Careers officer from school next Tuesday morning.

I thought I'd take a jump in here and ask if anyone is or would be looking for a possible future apprentice to learn all about the moulding and painting of toy soldiers?:)
I'm really passonate about this hobby and although I have not done much in recent years, I am really good at painting metal 54mm, and plastic 54mm and 1:72nd scale figures and vehicles.

I am quite talented and have a keen eye for detail. I love history and toy soldiers and if I could eventually get a career involving toy soldiers it would be the best thing in the world for me as I could express my creativity and imagination with a career involving what I love.

If anyone would even be interested in considering an apprentice, or even letting me shadow their work, maybe in the summer time, for their model company, then please contact me, even if its not right now, but at some point in the future.

If you are an owner of a company, and you would be willing to consider this, then please even if you do not live in Scotland (as few toy soldiers company owner's do) then please contact me, as travelling throughout the UK is another one of my favourite things!

Many thanks for reading this, and it may not seem like the smartest idea, and I may seem eager, however it is just because I don't see any point in waiting around for something to come to me, I thought I'd take a chance and offer myself up to any manufacturers who are looking for young talent!

Regards, Scott

Scott, as you have said there are few soldier companies in Scotland which means you would have to move elsewhere in order to pursue your aims with regard to future employment in the industry. Finding accomodation would be extremely expensive and would most likely be more than you could earn. My advice to you would be to find a full time job which would enable you to follow this pursuit in your spare time. As you say you are experienced in painting 54mm I would suggest you start by approaching various companies with samples of your work and endeavoring to secure a position in that capacity. If you are going to be at the June show in London I would be only to happy to introduce you to several makers who will be in attendance and whom I know are always looking for painters.

Yeah I should be there, and I am very greatful for your offer:)

I actually have family all over Britain, particularly in Manchester and London, and they have previously offered for me accomodation for the future:)
