Are they Egyptian, French or something completely different? (1 Viewer)

I have these two Dorset figures that I believed to be Egyptian. Their uniforms, to me, seemed very similar to Trophy Egyptian artillery figures I have. However, someone whispered in my ear that they look more like French Tirailleurs Senegalese. I did find one figure on eBay listed with that name. But, he does not look quite like these guys. Anyone willing to chime in on this one?

I'd say they are Senegalese in colonial French service based on the distinctive French-style guard on their bayonets. Egyptian uniforms were blue (white in summer), however I don't know anything about the details.
