Personally I think it was much more exciting thinking that they had aliens there.
Nevertheless and interesting story.

So the site was aerial surveyed for selection in 1955, purchased in 1955, built the U2 building and runway in 1955 and the defence contractor building the U-2 was able to move into the facility in July 1955. An amazing pace for a government program - just 6 months to do all that. :rolleyes2: But the Roswell incident was in 1947.

Adding in the new facts, I think it smells even more like a cover-up.

Yes it was there in the 1940's and that's where the aliens stayed. But it wasn't suitable so they expanded it . ^&grin
