I know it has been stated that Andy does not want any more germans for this range.:(
Having recently been leafing through the pages of the two volumes of After the Battle covering this operation I was reminded of the number of German vehicles that had started of there lives in other armies.
In the second volume there are some wonderful photos of Char B tanks modified as Flame tanks that were use to attack the British perimiter with some results. There were a lot of referrences to modified french tanks being used.
If run of the mill Germans are out of the question then how about some of these types ?
The new T34 and Hotchkiss SP have set a precedent.

Hello is anybody out there!
Have I really p***ed someone off :eek::eek:
It's like tumble weed city out here:(

I think German flamethrower conversions of French Hotchkiss tanks would be very cool. Based on George's (Warrior) post, we can expect some German releases with the Arnhem stuff, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

The Germans also mounted a heavy gun on the French Char-B hull. It looked rather awkward and wierd!?! I think the Char-B Flame throwers were few and only used in France? How ever a Hetzer-Flame thrower was also adapted.

Actually - the Char - B was in Holland and used by the Germans in fighting Operation Market Garden.

The Germans liked the Char-B it was good Armor and a little more "roomy" than the early Panzers and had good speed.

Thanks for the step-up Ron. Gotta keep my references up and my info accurate.

I like the idea of flame thrower tanks, hideous weapons though they were.I know its a whole different thread but a Churchill Crocodile would be high on my list.

Rob:)

The Germans were masters of refitting and reworking old captured Armor for their own purposes! The new German Tank that Andy came out with is another fine example of that - also the WS 73 - Panzer Lear Gun was actually captured French "Hotchkiss" Armor Equipment.

I think Andy is doing a great job on capturing these remake vehicles. :)

Ron

Yep Ron. Great stuff the Loraine Schlepper Gun would look great in Afrika colours. And what about the Nashhorn?

What about the EA or US maybe a Brit.Honey,Grant or Sherman? A Cruiser?
DOESN'T MATER WHAT SIDE ! MORE ARMOR ! MORE ARMOR ! MORE ARMOR !!!!!!

Old Celt, great observation by you regarding the possibility of a WS 73 in DAK colors as the 15th and 21st Panzer Divisions had them and both were in Africa. Not sure if the Nashorn was used in the desert..........

Regards,
George

Yeah George! I doubt it came out in time for No. Africa either.
I also doubt that the SturmTiger (sturmmoersser?) made accross the Mediterrainian either, however that didn't stop NMA from doing one in AK colours. And it still looks great.
WE all have our fantasy weapon wants!!

OC, how about a nice Mark IV J or H for Normandy? The Germans had what, about 1900 tanks and assault guns in Normandy and about half of them were Mark IV's, seems like a no brainer...............

The same idea has been floated on the Honour Bound thread, and I think it some late war Mark IV's are long overdue.

We really do need some MARK IV's - I believe Andy showed some interest in them in a recent post. Man, I hope so ! :D
