Hi, a little help...Louis, Andy? I am looking for a little information on the

wooden para jeep. I have seen the listing in the 1995 Brochure but I have

not been able to find the item number or where it was available.

Any idea of the history of this piece? How many where made, price, which

series it was offered in.

Thanks for any assistance.

John,
That jeep was from the TK series and I have never found a set number for it. It is somewhere between TK08 and TK14. I have included a picture of Louis's jeep for you. I believe this is the one you are referring to?

Bill:

Yes thats it, I only had an image from the 1995 flyer. So thanks for the

photo. I would love to know the original price, how many where made and

in what series they were offered. I have seen it listed in the Arnhem literature

but it is not in their item selection.

John,

Is this just curiousity or did you acquire one?

Dear John,
There is a picture of the "Arnhem' 44 British Para Jeep" in my February, 1996 Brochure. I have the following K&C price lists: September, 1995; February, 1996 and September, 1996. The jeep is not listed in 9/95 but is listed as follows in 2/96 and 9/96: "WILLYS JEEP British First Airborne Division, US$179, HK$1395" under the heading, "NORMANDY/ARNHEM '44 Fighting Vehicles." The jeep is not listed in my 1/97 and subsequent price lists.:)

I'm not quite sure, something is coming, I'm just doing my research to try

and determine exactly what it is.

Thanks again, you certainly have great information! I always appreciate

hearing from you!

I'm getting worked up!

NJJA,

If you are getting one, congratulations! Steven has already provided you with the price details, but here's what I know about the piece: The wooden para jeep is really highly detailed and much nicer than any of the later metal ones. Very few were made, because at $179 for a jeep with no crew, there was not a big call for them.

I got mine with a bunch of other wood vehicles from one of the dealers (Bob Fisher's Old Toy Soldier Home) in 1997-1998 when I was told by Tony Ciccerillo of the Toy Soldier Gallery that Andy had stopped producing the wood vehicles.

I have even heard from a dealer friend of mine that one of these was custom done as an ambulance jeep, with a stretcher made of cloth and tiny wood poles. These old vehicles are so much fun because each is a unique work of art, with slightly different details, and occasionally rare custom variants.

Thanks Louis I certainly appreciate the information, and I look forward to

your book project to help fill many of the gaps. So many wonderful products,

and so much fun learning the details of each new piece that comes into view.

I hope to ask your assitstance again soon.
