Now I know this will never be made, but I would love to see a civilian range covering the eras of the 20's,30's and 40's.I really like the clothes, cars and buildings of the Poirot type era,its very evocative of what is perceived as an era of glamour, smartness and manners.Heaven knows how expensive it would be to get permission to use Poirot figures etc but it sure would be something different.I would love to see K&C's version of 'Death on the Nile',with all its characters, locals etc, all set on a Nile Cruise boat, fantasy I know, but how cool!!

But even more than this I still hold out hope that one day Andy will do some WW2 Home front sets.He started with the 'For you Fritz' set which is superbly done and just what we want more of.Home Guard,ARP,Evacuees,Police,Civillians,GI's,Black marketeers 'Spiv's' the potential for a large and interesting range is right there, and I would be the first to order these:cool:

Hi Rob
what a great idea - What about civilians during the London Blitzs, - Air raid wardens, police fire and ambulance crews. Too often the civilian is disregarded during time of war. My grandfather was a volunteer on Manchester Docks clearing up after a night raid - he did'nt even get a pat on the back never mind a medal. :(

Thanks Frank, thats just the sort of thing I was thinking. So many civvies in different roles helped win the war and I know K&C could do them great justice. It was people like your grandfather doing their bit that kept this country going and kept the people sticking two fingers up to Hitler and Goering.I sorry to hear your grandfather got no official recognition, but please believe me,his efforts and those of millions of others will always be appreciated by the good folk of these islands and always remembered.

Along with all those we've mentioned we could also have Bomb disposal experts (absolute heroes every one of them) WAAF's,Firewatchers etc.Even people who kept the trains and buses running were heroes, again no easy job in the blackout.

I'm with you ...British WW2 civilians ...facades of shops something like Dickens .....wagons....scenes of home front training in the streets....ECT......I know its to much to ask but its fun........;)

Again great ideas!.Home guard road blocks, checking civvies as they go about their business etc.I just think this would be a popular and interesting line with so many subjects.

Hi Mr !0th LA

If a could dictate to Mr K&C as to what I personally would like - BRING BACK DICKENS - I just love the Victorian period - Thks Rob for your reply - that
kind of intelligent thought is what makes this hobby great -
Speak to you and Mr 10th again. ;)

Civilians would be neat. K&C has done an English Bobby so perhaps the fire brigade is a real possibility. I don't think I could resist a firetruck from the WWII era and its inherent firemen beating back the flames from the blitz.

Excellent idea, would go well with Mountfords new buildings too.

Rob,

have you seen what Asset has made for the Home Front?

In thier range there are quite a few figures such as Police, Land Army, Girl Guides, Fire Service, "What did you do in the War Mum?", various sets from WW@ including "Mr & Mrs Anderson & Shelter", "After the raid" and some Victorian era figures, that could suit the 1920's

On the website there is a .PDF Catalog, and I've got some of thier figures, mainly soldiers in my collection. they are 54mm, so would't really match in with K&C, but as a source of figures fraom that era, and type, have a look.

Hey John,

Thanks for that mate, yes I really like Assets Home front figures, they have real life quality and a dash of humour about them. The only reason I've held off buying them is that I hoped K&C may start this range. But I may just fold at the London show and get a couple of sets.

Cheers John

Hi John

Just had a look at the Asset website. Lovely looking figures but gloss - I have often looked at some wonderfull gloss painted figures and thought if only it was matt: We the "matt mob" are looking to enhance the realism of collecting hence civilians to cover a history of warfare. I would like to say however the face page of the Asset website have a lovely colection so why not matt aswell - PS thks for the latest news from your webpage - great as usual :)

I think Asset also do casts so you can paint your own in matte, but I wish K&C would do these, maybe one day;)

You know, there was a company called Triang Minic who produced some great cars of that era in tin along with deco dollhouses. They are absolutely amazing when you see them in person as they captured the time they were in perfectly.

You know just as K & C made a Berlin tenement a few years ago perhaps they could bring that idea back as a building hit by German bombers, with fire brigades, civilians, bobbies, etc.

Hi
And why not - I wonder if it would cost alot to produce a pile of rubble??
But lets not stop there - towns during the ACW that would be different. The amount of Civil War collectors there are - it would be good to have damaged towns and civilians - it would be endless
