Hi folks,

I need to add to my collection some of this archers , arquebusiers and other Chinese Cannon , but will wish a unicity of uniforms . However it seems, there were several of it. But the pics are often too small to be sure and certain. Have someone most informations than http://www.eastofindia.com/ , especially about the old sets?

Thanx in advance

General, Sir: I am not absolutely certain I understand your question. If you are looking for a list of all sets of members of the Ashigaru Clan from EoI, I unfortunately cannot help. Harry H. might.

If your question, thoiugh, is broader, you might want to have a look at this thread where I am introducing my Samurai collection with the audacity to venture into Samurai Heraldry. I have not yet undertaken the effort of trying to explain the different units or Clans.

Lastly, as a start into the field of Japanese warfare, I skimmed the following volumes which helped me a lot although some would say that it probably also added to my confusion:

Samurai Heraldry (Elite)
Samurai Commanders (1): 940-1576 (Elite)
Samurai Commanders (2): 1577-1638 (Elite)
Samurai 1550-1600 (Warrior)
Samurai - The World of the Warrior (Hardcover)
Sekigahara 1600: The Final Struggle For Power (Campaign)
War in Japan 1467-1615 (Essential History)
Ashigaru 1467-1649 (Warrior)
Samurai Armies 1550-1615

The Ashigaru were not a clan as such. Rather they were a type of "peasant", or "lower-class" soldier (archer, aquebusier, spearman, etc.), common to all clans.
