.......regarding any books members of the forum could recommend that are mostly color plates of famous battle scenes. I've got most of the usual suspects, Waterloo by Lachouque, L'Armee Francaise by Robichon, Napoleons War in Spain, all of the Rocco and Troiani books, etc, by any others folks can recommend would be appreciated. Napoleonic themed books are first on the list, but ACW, Franco Prussian, etc would be interesting as well..........

Hi,

The Book Rifles by Mark Urban has color plates and is a good read I recommend it if you want to look at the Peninsular War In Spain.

Heres a link to a book that I think you will really like. It has beautiful color paintings on just about every page from different battles of the napoleonics wars and a short write up about the battle and the people involved. I really think you will like this one. This company also has a few other books that I think might intrest you also! They all have tons of color paintings and uniform plates. The company is histoire and collections and the other titles are!!!
Austerlist
1814
Wagram
borodino
And coming soon Friedland!
Another must have if you don,t have it is the waterloo companion!!! AAA+
The Riffles book dave suggested is a really great book and one of the best I,ve read on the era but it,s not really a plate or picture book as is swords around a thrown for great reading but not for the battle art and plates you are looking for.
If you like the next time I meet up with you I,ll bring them with me so you can take a look and see what you think before you buy.
If your looking for uniform plates I have a few good suggestion for them also, I don,t want to start a big list here but have you seen the funkin uniform books?Lots of good plates covered in just 2 books great reference books.
