Assyrian Court Scene (1 Viewer)

Hi All,

I had made this piece almost a decade ago. This was based on some Assyrian zinnfiguren and I had made up an imaginary court scene. The early lighting was done with IKEA LED but it was a little too dim to view satisfactorily at night. The box was also not that well made and I had painted it gloss white.

I took it out a couple of weeks ago and decided to refurbish it. Started with sanding the box down and then repainting it black. It looks decent. Now to redo the lights and repaint parts of the interior.

I removed the IKEA strip light and replaced it with a strip of bright LED lights.

Here are the disassembled parts. For the backdrop, I had pasted a transparent sheet to mute the light to the bkgd.

For interior scene, after I had repainted the wall figures, I painted dramatic shadows for the columns and figures. I also open the slit for the light source to illuminate the interior. I pasted another strip of carboard to mask the light source. Then I pasted a silvered strip of paper to reflect the light source into the interior.

Then I tested the scene in a darkened room without the glass front. I I am very pleased with this refurbishment.
