Warning about some culture that might be coming your way.

We have just had a "comedy" series here in Oz called At home with Julia. It was about our Prime Minister and her partner and was a look at her home life. It also featured other politcians and jokes about them and politics.

I only watched the first episode and did not bother with the others. One episode was quite controversial with a scene of the PM and her partner naked under the Aussie flag on the floor in her office. Veterans were not amused. Series was shown on the ABC and produced with Govt money.

According to the following story they are thinking about a UK series :

"Producers of At Home with Julia, Quail TV, have been holding talks with UK broadcasters about a series centred around PM David Cameron.

But no deal has yet been done.

In The Independent producer Rick Kowalski says Quail TV would work with producers and satirical writers in Britain familiar with Downing Street life.

Currently attending MIPCOM in Cannes, Kowalski tells TV Tonight, “There is discussion ongoing in the UK but certainly no confirmed show.

“I was asked about how the show would work in the UK and gave that answer. It’s also not the case that the show has not been renewed in Australia. Discussions are ongoing there, too.

“But I can say there is a lot of interest in the show here in Cannes, which is great.”

If a UK version eventuates it would be the first of its kind to be based around an incumbent PM".

Personally not a fan of Govt money being used to make fun of current leaders.

However I might be tempted to watch At home with Berlusconi when the Italians get around to it ^&grin

Brett that's not as bad as if govt. money was used to tell you how GREAT your leaders are. THAT usually goes terribly wrong. :wink2:

BTW I had to look when you wrote "partner" for you P.M. I knew she's against *** marriage.

Scott,
Our PM's partner is male. However the leader of the Greens has a "partner" and his party holds the balance of
power in the Senate and very strongly pushing for *** marriage which is not a Labour policy (PM is Labour).
Better be careful as do not want to stray into politics.

Brett
