Egypt005 Cleopatra and Caesar

As history recants, Cleopatra was at the time engaged in a civil war with her brother for control of the Egyptian empire.
Lacking in any meaningful military forces at her command, but also knowing of the recently arrived in Egypt Caesar and his penchant for young female royalty, Cleopatra had herself smuggled into Caesar's quarters inside a rug.

As they say the rest is history, Caesar was in the right place at the right time with the right army. Cleopatra's brother was defeated in battle and she attained the throne.
The affair lasted until Caesar's death and produced a child who was murdered along the way some years later, as seemed to be the custom in those days, kill or be killed was an appropriate motto for royalty and common folk alike.

Once Caesar was dead, Cleopatra seemed to quickly overcome her grief and teamed up with Mark Antony, producing even more offspring than she had with Caesar.
For those of you who are not aware, Mark Antony was eventually killed in another of Rome's civil wars and Cleopatra then reputedly killed herself at the hands of an Asp snake.

Our depiction is of course subject to artistic licence and portrays the moment when Caesar and Cleopatra met for the first time, it's an interpretation we hope you will enjoy.

Limited to 150 pieces worldwide and priced at $120/£105 per set which includes 2 figures, table, rug and sword.

Dear All

Welcome to August 2021 figure newsletter with some unique and exciting offerings being brought to you by the Gunn team.
Last month was something of a shipping disaster, our goods were sat at UK docks for over 3 weeks waiting to be unloaded, this seems to be a common problem for everyone importing into the UK at the moment. We have therefore switched to air freight this month to ensure early arrival of our product for August's release. Although more expensive we figured it was better to have the goods here, rather than waiting weeks for them to arrive by sea. There has been a very small increase on some of our figures to cover this, but it is what it is in these tricky times.

Our first releases this month starting off in historical order are the lovers Julius Caesar and Cleopatra, an eagerly awaited set judging by the amount of emails we received!

Expecting these to appear on Monday, caught off guard. Everything looks great which equates to a very expensive month. Well done TG and really appreciate change of mode of postage at your considerable cost, to ensure your loyal collector base are not kept waiting. You are the best. Robin.

Good looking zulus and I like the Julius Caesar figure but think i will save my cash for any Boer War figures coming out in the next month or two

Yes some lovely figures this month. The Caesar and Cleopatra set is really nice and expect the SS figures to sell well.

Hopefully next month some Indochina figures, TG ?

Steve
