I got terrible news by mail today...a card from Aurele's wife Connie...
Aurele Desbiens has passed away...
Aurele posted under the name of "Old Tank" on the forum...
we became friends on the forum and he was always a pleasure to hear from and chat with...he had the greatest personality...always teasing me about Texas and referring to himself as "the Great Manitou"...meaning the Great Spirit in Algonquian...
he was a major French Indian War enthusiast...especially of John Jenkins Design...but also collected WWII figures...he was extremely passionate to his hobby...
Aurele was one of the most gracious, polite and helpful guys I ever met on the forum...he had the nicest personality (always joking around) and was always anxious to help me in my collecting endeavours...sharing ideas on modeling and collecting...
anyone that engaged or interacted with Aurele knows how nice a guy he was...
I will miss this man and his engaging personality greatly...
