I made this little Popsicle stick house and put some Jenkin's figurers with it.

It was my first attempt and I learned a lot and have some good ideas for a second house.

I'm sure I can make a much better house but I won't scrap this one.

I see a lot of mistakes I can improve on...but here it is.

NEAT! I'm going to try a clapboard house! I still have about 800 popsicle sticks.

Something like this from Colonial Williamsburg. Good from a small farm or slave cabin.

I highly recommend a glue gun. It dries in seconds instead of hours like the white glue.

A gun is $8 at Walmart and sticks are $4.

It is a must have.

Be careful of burning yourself, and it literally dries in seconds.

I used the Hirst bricks for the chimney..........it made it so easy.

I'm diabetic, type 2, and I buy the Kroger brand sugar free banana popsicle 6-8 boxes at a time, I have enough sticks to make a village, lol.

I going to build this next...........it looks pretty easy.

ps.........you can buy the shingles at Hobby Lobby.......350 for $9.99.....they last forever and are easily trimmed, be sure and download a 50% coupon for them.

I see alot of mistakes? I would take a home made house like that over a store bought one anyday! Excellent job! The dioramas of you and polar bear are the only reason I come on the forum anymore. Great job!

Hi, Mike, I think it looks pretty good as it is, though I understand exactly what you mean, as a modeler myself-you always see something you'd do differently.

But as a viewer, I think you've done a great job of capturing the look of the clabs, and the shingles. Great job, nicely done!

Prost!
Brad

Mike,
You have a great talent for this hobby. How long have you actually collected?
Mark

I've saved a couple of photos of Britains LTD buildings for further reference. I'd hate to buy them and take any away from Britains collectors. wink ;)

I'm going to get some refills for my glue gun. I forgot how much better they are than waiting for Elmers to dry.

That's an impressive looking building. Great eye for the detail Michael, and great paint / weathering on the roof.

Michael that is a great house and I really like the weathering. I know about those roof shingles because I built my daughter a dollhouse and maybe I'll post pictures of that but what I wanted to say is that they sell those roof shingles in half scale which is 1/24 scale and would fit a lot nicer.
