I remember sitting in my hotel room, which was in the turret of a 14th century fort on the Isles of Scilly I was over there to do some work and the wind was howling and rattling the windows like a vickers machine gun. I was awake and it was three in the morning and I reached for a copy of Toy Soldier Collector. It had arrived that morning as I was heading out to fly over to the islands.
Tucked within its pages were some new figures from Morgan Miniatures - Aztecs and Conquistadors. They looked so exotic and bright against my drab nighttime surroundings and I new I had to get some. Over the years I have collected around 40 to 50 figures from the range and got a large Aztec temple complex made by Small Wonders. Its time to pick up a few more figures - inspired by a great Aztec display at New Zealand's national museum - Te Papa.
