AZW - "Zulu Twilight No.1" + "Zulu Twilight No.2" - Pictures and Thoughts

Just got 2 new AZW sets and here are some pictures and thoughts.

20127 - "Zulu Twilight No.1" - Dead Zulu on Mealie Bags and Another on the Ground

The dead zulu on the sandbags is probably the best figure (of both sets) and looks very good displayed. The second dead figure slumped over was very disappointing as it looks and feels like half a figure. Again I appreciate he is doubled over but to me it does not look right at all. Again, in addition to the main sandbag, the set includes an additional shield, ammo boxes and 2 assegai (there is only 1 spear shown in stock picture).

20128 - "Zulu Twilight No.2" - Dead Zulu on Biscuit Boxes and Another on the Ground

The dead zulu on the biscuit boxes looks undersized. I know he is bent over however, when handled and to the naked eye he feels noticeable smaller. The dead zulu on the ground works well. In addition to the main biscuit boxes the sets includes a shield, additional small box with ammo and also 2 assegai (the 2 spears are not shown in stock picture).

As stand alone pieces I believe that both sets have a good figure and a less so figure. For me, this consistency (or lack of) is an increasing concern when I buy WB AZW. In future, I will wait to see the pieces before buying them. The additional pieces – shield, assegai etc are good though.

Great review and pics Gaz.
I will still buy both these sets because when they are displayed with the other sets and figures, as you have, they look great.
As for the undersized figure.......those Pygmies just get everywhere^&grin

I am very happy with mine. The figures can also be swapped over so I am sure they will also work on other sections of mealie bags and biscuit box walls. Can't really say the size of the figures is a disappointment, people vary in real life so should toy soldiers.

I am also very happy with this set. The size does not bother me. I like a little variation in the size of the figures. Although not too much.
