Cheers Forum Squadron Members,

First off, have any of you ordered one of the B-17 bombers from Figarti? Secondly, has anyone taken delivery of the actual scale aircraft? Any pictures would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance for your consideration and time.

Marc,

Haven't got it (marital harmony reasons,as well as financial ), but I've got a few pics from last December's London Show.

Simon:

A sincere thank you for posting the pictures. I was not aware of the RAF version-WOW! Did they have any at this year's London Show? Per your post I assumed these pictures were from 2007? Thanks mate.

Fight On,
Marc

I saw them in 2007 in Chicago and they were very impressive. If you have the cash and the space, I'd do it. Regarding the RAF one, that was a one of a kind, just made for the London Show.

Thanks Brad for the RAF Version information. I made the space for one inclusive of a diorama, etc.-I just need the kite herself! I am very interested to know if this project actually went to production and subsequent delivery though. I bought war bonds for this beauty but might allocate them elsewhere if she remains MIA. What a stunning project though!

All The best,
Marc

Hi Marc
The B-17 most definitely made it into production.
There are 3 specific versons including the Memphis Belle famous from the movie.
Brad's correct the British Coastal Command version was a one off for yours truly. I know some have been made in specific paint schemes to reflect the unit which collector's familiies were in.
For instance Sally B was another famous old girl who flew from my local airfield and we've had some interest in producing that version.
Although I took some to the last London Show we simply didn't have the space to display them alongside all the new releases so no more photos I'm afraid.
If you want more photos or info let me know and I'll see how good I am with the "Kodak Brownie".
They are a special order item but I'm sure Matt @ Hobby Bunker who is the US Distributor for Figarti would be able to help.

Happy hunting.

Clive is right. Rick did say that he could make the planes to order if you wanted special unit markings. Don't know if anyone took him up on it.

I had a 1/48 version made by one of the ac makers some time ago as a gift to my father,,they did a perfect job duplicating the markings, serial # etc.very satisfying.

Thanks Clive for the detailed SITREP which was very much appreciated. I have been waiting 14 months for the Memphis Belle I ordered which is why I asked if any deliveries were made to customers specifically to the U.S. It just might be that I was late in the game with my order and therefore am "Tail-End Charlie" in my "Cleared To Pick-Up Clearance." I am hoping that she makes the trip for the WestCoaster which I plan to attend! Thank you again.

Fight On!

I checked into getting one of these but the shipping was brutal. I believe it was like $300 plus just in shipping. I was hoping to see one at a local show but no such luck so far.

Beau

Perhaps she was shot down over the Atlantic !

Not quite Ron!

She (Memphis Belle) is flying on two engines and will land at the West Coaster in March! Her Southwest ground crew are on alert & ready for her arrival. Splendid news!
