Over the past year and up to fairly recently we've had heated exchanges, the tracks debate and various moans and groans. So i thought i'd like to take it back to the woodwork and list a few things i really, really like about K&C.(not involving other manufactures because this is the K&C thread.)

1.Quality:The figures are second to none. They seem to get better and better the sculpting, painting and realism are superb.

2.The poses.Again they have a realism about them that makes them stand out for me.Just look at the sets 'crossing the road and G.I prisoners'.You can really tell from the natural poses that Andy has been in the army and knows how soldiers move.

3.His contact with the customers. We all appreciate this converse with the top man and his willingness to let us in on bits and pieces.

4.The price.Still very reasonable to me.

5.K&C UK.I always get such an excellant service from Mike/Tony/Bob and its a pleasure to spend my money with them. The wife might not agree on this one though!

There i've said my bit. That is why i love K&C and its why i came to the forum in the first place. And i've met many nice people here since.Right just felt it was time to post something positive.Right i'm off for my tea!

I agree with all of your points, especially the constantly improving quality, accessibility and Mike, Sue and Tony of K&C, UK. To me the greatest pleasure of this hobby is the people. That's why I co-host the Symposium, the chance to meet like minded people and make more friends.

Andy, Gordon, Mike, Sue and Tony are all people I have come to consider good friends over the years. I look forward to entertaining Tony and his wife Jane over the weekend before the Symposium when they come to New York.

Rob

I agree with you - 100% :D

My thoughts are the same and another point to bring out is Andy has been working on Orginial Range's like Crusdaers & Saracens - which makes our hobby fun. King and Country has added more to the collectors world with his take on Alamo, American Revolution, Napoleonics and the new WWI !

And words cant describe all his great art in the World War II ranges - so much so to bring an old Napoleonic crazed guy to buying WWII items.

Tip of the hat is certainly due.

I'll join in and say that although I nitpick some of Andy's details, I still get a LOT of enjoyment from my K&C stuff. I agree that the figures are VERY lifelike in poses, attitudes and proportions. Even though I get excited about new US vehicles from K&C, it is still the figures that make King and Country unique!

Its good to read your opinions. As i say sometimes things drift a little and its good to hear something positive for a change.I recently got my hands on the 88mm gun,and i am so impressed with the quality of it.The sculpting, painting and sheer weight of it is a delight.I think it is wonderful that we have this forum to come and celebrate our hobby and talk about future releases.Of course its always good (and vital)to hear all points of view, but i just wanted to get back to some positives for a while.Right thats me off my soapbox!!!

Carry on!!

I think you have to nitpick sometimes rather than just blindly accept things.
I know there are things that really hit me in the eye when I look at some of the vehicles and figures. But overall I love these models and the pros far outweigh the cons.

As far as scale and accuracy go, I think with K&C you have an artistic view of things rather than the 100% accurate view.

Not sure if that's totally ideal but it usually always looks good at least.

Hey Rob glad you got the 88. It's a real hefty beast isn't it. It's as heavy as a heavy thing wearing a lead overcoat and a sign saying "I'm darn heavy!"

The 88 and the StugIV were the first K&C pieces I ever got in my hands and I'm really glad I bought them when I did.

Hey James, your right of course. Its healthy to nit pick now and again and keeps competition keen.

So how are you doing on saving up for the paras?.I may have to attend the December show in a hospital bed with drip as i have sold my Kidneys, liver etc.I asked the wife if i should sell my brain but she said it wasn't worth the postage. So i thought i might try a slightly dishonest/shady not strictly lawful tact.Does anyone want to buy the tower of London?.(i'll give you a good price?!)

Rob

Yes mate love the 88,got to get the crew now then the prime mover etc etc!

Rob

Hey James you should have written for Blackadder!

Rob

Hey I'm good how are you guys?. I'm Just messing about at work instead of doing anything constructive. :)

I can leave at 2pm today as a special reward for struggling in during the snow a couple of weeks back!

Heh Rob I knew you'd get the Blackadder ref. Aah it's a woman's 88 Sir! :D

Yep James we are all 'mad as a mongoose' here.(love that programme!).Hey Jeff hows tricks.I'm a bit fed up today as i have a long term back injury and it hurts like f*** today!.Think i'll have to get on the sofa this pm with a good long war film and my K&C catalogues.

Ploppy the jailer 'theres still something lurking in the back of my head sir'
Blackadder 'probably a flea'!

Rob

I'm fine thanks. A bit fed up? there are only 5 weeks to go untill the London show, thought you would be planning your list of purchases.

Jeff

YEAH YOUR RIGHT MATE!!!

Am definately buying the prime mover because i recently got the 88.I want the new AK truck. And i want the Bulge set entitled 'Enemy in sight'.Jeff you've cheered my day up all ready! Now how to pay for them.....

Rob

Yep i'm after 'seizing the colours' on the day.I really want the cannon but 'seizing' is bound to be retired first. How about you?.

Rob

James so what will you and your mum be after in London?.

Rob

I've got the 'Seizing the Colours' set so I will go for the RHA cannon and a set from the SOHK.

Jeff

And a few beers!

James so what will you and your mum be after in London?.

Rob

My mom will be getting a few more zulus cause you can never have enough. :)

I may get some figures from the DAK range, the machine gun group and the mortar maybe. I've decided to be a completist with the DAK range and focus on that. I've got mostly everything since the second wave of DAK began in 2002 apart from the those sets I mentioned plus the checkpoint and the attack set.

"No! Not the codling grinder!"
