Y'know I reckon DAK is the best K&C WW2 range. It just has the extra special something.

Have you got got some of the pieces like the Panzer III and IV?
I reckon those are ones that it wouuld be best to try and get hold of before prices really shoot up. Though I guess you have to draw the line somewhere especially now you are into the Wellingtononics (lol)

Dya think Ron is watching? :)

Hi Guys,

A very big thankyou to Rob, Louis, Ron and Gary for their recent posts about K&C.

In amongst the multitude of “I want this...why don’t you do that...I don’t like this or I don’t like that” it’s just so refreshing to get the occasional “pat on the back” for what K&C actually does do...

Which is...design and produce a veritable wealth of figures, vehicles and display pieces that cover the widest possible range of historical eras in the toy soldier world today. Honestly, hand on heart, can anyone name another company that produces military and civilian miniatures that span the centuries between “Ancient Egypt and Rome” to the current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and many conflicts in between?

I don’t think so.

At the same time K&C has pioneered, promoted and developed many of the most innovative ideas in the hobby today. For example...Matt Painting — the first main stream toy soldier company to produce whole ranges of figures in “ALL-MATT” painting style was K&C back in 1995 when we launched our “ARNHEM’44” series of British Paratroopers.

Likewise production of Polystone and metal fighting vehicles to go with the figures...that original little Sherman tank and Amtrack for our first Iwo Jima series back in 1997/98.

How about our various “Normandy Village” and “Arnhem Backlot Buildings” — also a first.

I genuinely believe that the huge interest in WW2 figures and fighting vehicles has always been there for toy soldier collectors...but until the appearance of ARNHEM’44...NORMANDY ’44 and our WAFFEN SS figures it was much more secondary to Zulu War...British Colonial campaigns...Napoleonics and American Civil War.

Ask yourself or the dealers how many NEW COLLECTORS have come into the hobby because of K&C and what we’ve been trying to do over the last 10 or so years.

On the scale issue...i.e. 1:30 K&C scale (especially for WW2) the relatively recent arrivals — “Honour Bound”...“NMA”...“Patriot” is it just coincidence or what that they’ve jumped into WW2? I don’t think so...and I’m not complaining either...actually it’s good for K&C and for you. Even more innovation and a bit more choice. “Honour Bound’s” recent price hikes prove it’s not all that easy to jump in with both feet into a highly competitive market like WW2.

I want to reassure all of our dealers and collectors that K&C has no intention of raising our prices across the board to somehow take advantage of the HB situation.

K&C’s and my intention is to continue to improve and develop new ideas...new concepts...for our figures, fighting vehicles and display pieces AT A PRICE AFFORDABLE TO THE VAST MAJORITY OF ORDINARY COLLECTORS not just the select few.

We intend to continue adding extra value to our product whilst still improving the overall quality.

On that, you have my pledge.

Finally, please remember I’m a collector too...that’s how I got into this hobby and business and that’s why I share your passion and love for it.

Believe me, everyday I wake up I thank the good Lord he’s given me this unique opportunity to do what I love doing...to put food on the family table...and to have made literally thousands of great friends all over the world. All of it through a little box of toy soldiers my brother Gordon sent me for Christmas 25 years ago.

My sincere gratitude and appreciation to you all.

Best wishes and...happy collecting!

Guys

Not been on for a while as been busy both at K&C UK and also visiting Relatives the other end of the country.

I would like to thank those for the kind words in this thread and also in the recent thread, about K&C UK.

On a point that was mentioned that Dealers cannot have friends or is the friendship mutual !! couple of points from K&C UK

1, at my mum and dads (Mike & Sue) 40th Wedding anniversary there were 10 K&C UK customers in attendance.

2, We regullary have customers up for a weekend who have even stayed with Mum and Dad.

3, We like to treat our customers as friends of the family more than just customers. Many of the customers we have had over the years have become family friends.

4, Sue and Mike have attended a couple of customer weddings and this year are even having Christmas with them in Mauritius.

So from our point of veiw K&C Customers are more than customers. And before the question jumps up NO these people are not just the big spending customers. All Customers get the same treatment from The Neville Family.

regards

Tony Neville

You have been a great dealer - from a wonderful website to your help that I read about all the time in this forum. Its just a shame I am on this side of the pond and cant go in your store.

I am tring to get over to see you and visit the London Show in Dec. - I told the future wife - "Why not go to London for some Christmas Shopping this year and take in the City? - heheheheeheheehe"

Although, I think she is wise to the plan - but, no complaints thus far :D

Ron

Awesome as much as there is three London Shows a year March June and December the December one (for some strange reason) seems to be the most fun one! must be the season.

I beleive there is the intention of a few K&C customers from your side coming over. December is the show where Andy comes over for and where we have our Evening with Andy and K&C UK.

Shopping is good this time of year as well as the sales start early!!

Tony

I think Tony is spot on, I think of the Nevilles as friends as well as suppliers of my fave soldiers.I have visited the London shows for many years now and one of the first thing that struck me about King and Country was Mikes attitude. He would always take time to talk to me about his stuff even when i wasn't buying. This was in direct contrast to many suppliers at the show who made it clear that if you weren't buying keep moving!!.I also remember telling Tony that i was considering collecting the Nap 'Greys'.He actually talked me out of it because i collected WW2 and thought it would cost me too much!.Now that sounds more like a friend than a supplier to me.

As i said at the beggining of this thread Mike,Tony,Bob(when he is there)and the whole Neville team are helpful, friendly and open and this makes collecting very enjoyable.

They also said i could have every figure in the Crimean range completely free of charge.........or did i dream that!!!!

Andy, I did exactly as you said, except that it was about two years ago that I asked myself that very same question.

Your great company brought me to this hobby and it keeps me collecting. The other companies are great, but it is King & Country that is and will always be the primary reason I collect.

It is not only the variety and unique models you offer, it is the way you conduct your business. You are responsive to me directly. Not too many companies do that. I say that you are directly responsive to me beyond just this forum. About 3 or 4 years ago, when I first started collecting, after I had discovered King & Country, I email you and low and behold, you personally responded. I did not like the answer I got but I got an answer from the top. And your response was not dismissive. It was cordial and informative.

Your willingness to listen, adapt your product to meet changing needs and make such wonderful collectables demonstrates to me that King & Country is the industry leader. I have hesitated in the past to make such glowing compliments due to the aggressive nature of some forum members who complain that such compliments place you on an alter and that you are then being worshiped like a King or a God. Well, I don't think you are God nor are you a king, just the top line maker of collectable miniature soldiers, vehicles and diorama material.

I take this hobby very seriously, as most of us do. I have invested a considerable amount of money in this passion and I don't waste my money on things that have no value.:)

Andy,

I won't be at the symposium this year but I have been really busy recently, sorry for not replying to this sooner. For my tuppence worth, you are the reason I collect and although I thought your products were brilliant a few years ago you continue to 'amaze and delight' this customer at least. I recently aquired some of the recent BOB (see the thread in dioramas on the Bulge) - what fantastic figures even compared to your earlier creations. The way it just gets better can't go on...can it? As you know I don't crawl and am happy to supply constructive criticism... :( see comments on tracks for example, but am also happy to comment on the fantastic response you made in quality.

For example of older - DD2 and newer - Sepp Dietrich - even this difference in quality is outstanding and the older ones were just brilliant!

Thanks, no B*** S***:D
