Thank you for the posts.....great picture of the castle.......as you said square ...towered...castles ...would be no worry to make or...cast in resin.... But... the easiest way is to make it would be with my super icing sugar if I wanted to keep it.(Very messy to make and not as quick as plasticine)...the only reason the castle has round towers is that it is included amongst the photos I got from the net for my roundhead figure...liked the look of it......and I have plenty of dog food tins avail.....thanks for the interest...one tower to go and I will have finished the castle.........cheers TomTom - just had a thought about a Castle that I once knew quite well - near where I used to live in Monmouth, South Wales. It's Raglan Castle - which actually did get knocked about a bit by those Roundhead bounders in the so-called English Civil War, which did actually involve other parts of Britain too. Note the towers flanking the main gate aren't round. Could you cast those in resin pieces - and join 'em up later to form hexagonal ones (or however many sides there are. Bung Raglan castle in Google Images - and there's a load more pics? They have those nice frilly bits on top - and a whacking great hole above the gate for a bit of imaginative architecture from you. Don't know about the cat on the lawn mind - back to the plasticine for him/her!Just a thought. jb

Hey Tom - have a look at this link below which gives detals and pictures of some 400 sites - will that be enough?
http://www.castlewales.com/
Two which spring to mind are Castel Coch (The red Castle) - and Caerphilly castle - both of which I know well. Both will make superb backdrops - for different things. Just bung those two names into Google - and you will see what I mean. For your current round towers - have a look at Beaumaris Castle too. Then there's Caernarfon Castle................... No need to look further than Wales for Castles - happy hunting. jb
Thanks for that...love the Welsh names....the Brits must have though the Welsh were naughty boys to have to build all dem castles..a couple of which I have seen pic's of some time ago.....there are three reason I would like to visit England/ Wales,,,,The Castles.... HMS Victory and the Tea clipper.. Cutty Sark and the Dulkford Air Museum.........and.. then .duck in for afternoon tea with Liz....cheers TomJust had a thought...could you supply me with some more castle name's to google....I have always been interested in castle,,,but,,,never remember the names...Wales..I ..know..has some beaut castle's....and I keep forgetting the power of the net for such info...I use the net ofcourse looking for info and down loading fantasic vidoes on WW11 aircraft,,,especially the C47 which I have had a bit to do with in the past and present until recently but not as a pilot unfortunately.....the French and Spanish castle's are too fancy for me...I like the UK castle's...they are castle's...thanks ...Tom[/QUOTE

Tom - you won't be disappointed with any of those visits - and as for tea and bikkies with herself - well - okay - but don't forget that drinking the tea from a saucer is not "in" nowadays - and NO DUNKING the biscuits - as YOU KNOW they WILL break off - and you will have to ask her for a lend of a spoon to fish the bits out!Remember also not to ask for the crusts off the fish-paste sarnies (for the dog) - she has the corgi's to feed too! jb{sm2}
Have you got shares in Plasticine, by the way?
/Your 'ad afternoon tea with some of me relie's ave yer ?....we have to dunk the " the scones " mate....they are rock 'ard...by the time I finish the castle I would have brought enough plasticine to own the bloody factory.....cheers TomTom - you won't be disappointed with any of those visits - and as for tea and bikkies with herself - well - okay - but don't forget that drinking the tea from a saucer is not "in" nowadays - and NO DUNKING the biscuits - as YOU KNOW they WILL break off - and you will have to ask her for a lend of a spoon to fish the bits out!Remember also not to ask for the crusts off the fish-paste sarnies (for the dog) - she has the corgi's to feed too! jb{sm2}
