Cheers Everyone:

I was intrigued by two of the 2004-2005? W. Britain sets namely the WW II Seize The Day sets (17461 & 17462). I think the little dog under the cart did me in as well as the whole map reading scenario on the larger piece. I was hoping someone could tell me more about it as I am just going off two mid quality small images. Are they nice sets? Who designed them? How is the quality, etc.-or will I be asking myself why I spent so much just to get a wartime dog? As always all feedback is very much appreciated!

Happy Hunting!

The dog sold me too. I love both sets. But I'm a dog lover just ask Shannon & Brad.

Marc,

I, too, have these Britains sets and, like Chuck, I really, really love them. The map reading scenario and the dog under the cart sold me as well. I do not know who designed them, but I do know that the sets were fashioned after a World War II painting by James Dietz. The sets were Britains limited edition sets. As you know, "limited edition" means one thing in the Britains world and another thing in the K&C world. At any rate, I would be surprised if you acquired them for a reasonable price and then kicked yourself for having "spent so much to get a war time dog," especially if you like many of the World War II Britains figures.

Let us what you think of them if you are able to obtain the sets!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Thanks Chuck & Pat for the feedback. Looks like I will be adding them to the collection ASAP! Like Chuck said, the dog is a real "closer" for that one piece! As always, Happy Hunting!

Christmas came early! They are NOT King & Country at all as we all know but I love them all the same. The scenes (map reading & pup under the cart) makes the sets as they simply tell a story. I am a happy guy!

Beaufighter,

May I assume from your post that you were able to acquire the "Seize the Day" sets? If so, I am glad you are satisfied with the them. As I said earlier, I think they are wonderful and they occupy a prominent place in one of my curio cabinets. The sets do tell a great story and one set without the other is clearly an incomplete story.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

AFFIRMATIVE! Both sets were deployed to my door-front early last week & are safely at their respective display stations. I am enjoying them very much!

HANG TOUGH!
