This is an open item to Build-a-Rama. Is there any chance that you will be producing backgrounds? Civil War, Napoleonic, Zulu Wars would be much appreciated. Also, length and height of these backrounds should accomodate various display cabinet sizes or they should be big enough to fit the largest cabinet and the buyer can cut them to accomodate their own needs. Thanks.

I would add battlegrounds for the ancients, Romans, Greek / Persians etc. Perhaps some basics generic to which the appropriate accessories (walls, roads, buildings etc) could be added to suit the period.

Gentle Friends,

And, perhaps a background for the 1903 Delhi Durbar?

Warmest personal regards,

Pat ;)

This Is An Excellent Idea...i Would Be Buying Them For Sure...noone Else Sells These...do They?

I agree, this is a good idea. I particularly like the idea of making them large so they can be cut to fit.

Some backgrounds for WWI/II scenes as well. JG Miniatures has a few but I'd like more options.

A really good Forest or Woods back drop. One that could be used for Europe. One that could be used for American East Coast. Summer, Winter, Fall?

Scholtz at Berliner Zinnfiguren (www.zinnfigur.com) had backdrop posters in his catalog at one time. I didn't find any in a quick search yesterday afternoon, but I will check my hardcopy catalogs when I get home, and see if I can find them. I'll email them, too, and ask if they still offer them.

There were several images, I think they were mostly European (or northern temperate climate zone), so for example, there was an open field of grain, with some woods in the background. I'll post more info, as I can find it.

Prosit!

You can make your own with a good sharp photo and a modern engineering copier/plotter. The photo is digitized and then can be enlarged , cropped and printed in multiple sizes. If you can locate a " drafting" service they can do it for you. Kinkos and similar copier services might have the right equipment.

I would also like to see painted backgrounds that would show a major conflict going on and have my miniatures displayed in the foreground. I've seen some Napoleonic dioramas like this but, I would assume it can work for most any period.

Michtoy has backgrounds in their finished/scenic diorama section.

Just go to a fairly new construction site, take a few photos and there you go. Instant WWI no man's land. I don't know if that really would work but it sounds like it could.:D

That's a neat idea Nick. Hadn't thought of that. I'll keep my eyes open for some large scale demolition work going on.

Cheers
Simon
