BoB currently being re-run on HBO. Also on the "on demand" feature if you have it. The absolutely outstanding 12 part mini-series "From the Earth to the Moon" is "on demand" also. It has been a while (made in '98) since I had seen this Tom Hanks produced series on NASA and I had almost forgotten how good it is. Ranks up there with the best, IMHO. If you haven't seen it, rectify that. You won't be sorry. -- lancer

Band of Brothers is superb, the greatest war related mini series ever, although it looks to me like The Pacific is going to try to claim that title, it also looks superb based on the trailers, March 14th can't come fast enough...............

There were so many good episodes, the one in which they took the gun emplacement was fantastic as were all the Bulge episodes. They really got across the terrible cold around Bastogne and the horror of bombardment.Another ep that really moved me was (I think it was called)'The last Patrol' classic war tv.

Every time that is on, I have to watch. They are replaying it in my area 8:00 pm Sunday nights, episode one Currahee was on this past Sunday. I love the Capt. Soble getting lost part, and the phony Colo. Sink telling him That Dog just don't Hunt, and to cut the wire and keep them moving. I also like how they have the real soldiers telling their stories at the begining. Those guys are True Heros.:)

Absolutely, they are all real heroes and this programme really does them justice. All the bits you list are great,I also really like the bit in which Winters orders his men to pretend they did a last patrol close to the end to spare wasting lives, wonderful stuff.

I started watching it again Sunday and have three more episodes to watch. I like to watch it every couple of years. It's truly a superb series. There are few series I will rewatch and this is one of them.
