Hi, Just opened a recently purchased Barzso LOTM playset from a fellow collector. Unfortunately, the Magua figure is broken at the hand/hatchet area. Easy to see why with all the supportiing plastic coming up to it at a different angle than what the hatchet is at (too much residual stress - pretty good description for an electrical engineer). also the hatchet itself suffers from being to thin and not robust enough. Just wondering who in the hobby would be one of the best to trust to repair this for me? Would you recommend I have him add a different thicker hatchet? Thanks. you can email me privately if preferred at beatlesmarxeddie@yahoo.com.

If it's a clean break then the repair is relatively simple. Drill a small hole down into each of the two parts, place a bit of thin wire in place. Then glue it together with 5-minute epoxy. With a bit of care the parts will be stronger than new. As far as the hatchet, you could replace the handle with wire or plastic and try to match the color (if your figure is in its "plastic" color).

It's nearly impossible to glue soft plastic figures and have them survive any handling. The wire replaces the fractured crystalline structure of the original plastic.

Just want to acknowledge the efforts of one Jim Clouse who did a FANTASTIC job on my Magua figure. As we all know he is one of the great/selfless contributors to our hobby! Thanks again Jim!!

Hi There,
I sculpted the figures in this set figures and please know that these were not injection molded plastic, but cast Polyurethane Resin. These are easy to glue, but do not have any strength in thin cross section. Most of the figures in my sample set had some issue or another that I have never bothered to repair. I warned Ron about the lack of durability in the material choice in these early sets.

Any of the commercial 'super glues' are the best adhesive to bond this material.

All the Best,
Ken
