Just got back from the Indy show. Ron Barzso has a new gate and blockhouse for his Boonesboro fort, excellent piece that adds versatility to his previous release. It comes with a glue in name plate on which you can select the name of the fort for a nominal fee. Another excellent job by Jim Clouse and Ron.

Ed - Thx for the kind words! Glad you like the new piece.

Here's one photo I have of the display we had for the show.. I'll be working on the Indy Show website over the next few days -will have many, many photos.

Thx,

Jim

Thanks for the photo, Jim,
this was a stunning setup and that Fort phantastic.
I enjoyed seeing it yesterday at the show.
Very good work.

Great forts from Barzo. My only concern is whether or not the foam will maintain its' integrity. Is it stable or will it warp? I have seen some foam pieces do that. Not a lot but enough to have me concerned. I would hate to invest in a castle only to have it fall apart after a couple of years.

I believe the foam maintaining it's integrity is not a problem. I have the Barzso pirate ship and the cliff piece from Last of the Mohicans.. both pieces have been out for several years - and they're perfectly fine...

I have had foam pieces from Barzso for upwards of 5 years and not a problem at all.

Me too, no problem.
Sure wish Jim would design some WW2 pieces, he does excellent work.

First of all, I gotta say, what a piece!!!!! Just wow. The fort with 6 blockhouses and two gate walls looks VERY tasty. Oh my.

Re: foam deterioration. I think I've bgt just about every foam piece Ron's made and NEVER had a problem with customer warpage post purchase nor heard anyone complain of same (not to say it hasn't happenned). Adobe walls, churches, bldgs, pirate ships (he actually made two sizes), Fort Ti, Davey Crockett Wilderness set, Tripoli walls and bldgs, War of 1812 stuff, the imcomparable castle and village and all its foam accessories, and, lastly, the new Boonesbporough village and fort have all remained first class products. NO WARPAGE whatsoever that I can see. If the manufacturer releases pieces from mold before they have properly cooled, then warping may occur immediately after the foam is removed from the mold (the warm piece continues to expend, causing distortion.) Some of this problem occurred with the new Davey Crocket Wilderness forts, but appears to have been rectified. My Last of the Mohigans rock looks just great, but the way.

So far as I can see, once pieces have been released fro their original molds with adequate time to cool, you're home free. Little warpage will occur after that.

Last year I bought the 'Adventures of Robin Hood' playset and I loved it! What a terrific toy! The only problem is I didn't have it when I was 8... other than that it is perfect!
:D

Ron Barzso is a gentlemen and his playsets are second to none.
