My buddy Brad is correct. I had a huge baseball & hockey card collection but sold them about 6 years ago to fund my K&C addiction.
I was lucky I had kept mine from when I was a kid growing up in the 50,s, early 60,s.
When I finally started selling them off I had every Topps complete set from 1953 to 1993 missing but 2 cards, the 53 Mays and the 63 Rose rookie card. I also had Topps 52 set 1 thru 310, not the high numbers.
Also had most of the Bowman sets 48 thru 55.
I still have my Topps 52 thru 54 and Bowmans 48 thru 53. Just can,t part with those.
I will say when I was really into it I thought that there is ABSOLUTELY no way I could ever sell my cards, so there is truth to the fact, never say never.
Towards the end it got so that there was just way to much stuff being produced, it just overwhelmed the hobby.
I timed getting into both my hobbies, card collecting and K&C , just at the right time. Got back into cards in 1978 when you could buy them for pennies, example a mint Nolan Ryan rookie card I bought for $5, and had to stop and think if I should really spend $5 on one card.
Got into K&C in 2002 when dealers still had at regular retail all the early sets.
The only sports related thing I collect now are the McFarlane Hockey figures.
