This week e-Bay bidding closed on two boxed sets of W. Britains Rifle Brigade Set No. 2091. I have tried with my Mac to copy the photos provided in each case to jpgs, in order to include as thumbnails, without success. The e-Bay Item numbers which are still available for viewing are: 320456140937 and 150392717861. The complete URLs are: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320456140937&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT and http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150392717861&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT In the first set while the paint color matched on all figures, it appeared to be a darker chroma than the normal apple green used by Britains in the 1953-59 time-frame. Appreciate that photography can be deceptive depending upon lighting, exposure, etc. In addition however, the corners of the bases were rounded and a mould line appears to run from back to front on each base. Hopefully you can observe this in the on-line imagery. I opted to bid a little more and won the second set, because it appeared to be in slightly better condition, and the bases were righteous. If anyone in this forum has a brief moment to glance at the imagery of the two sets,. would very much appreciate your assessment.

Hi There,

I think the 2d set was the better of the 2. There may well be an issue in the photo quality but the 1st set doesnt look quite right to me. I think you did well. The box is also in good shape.

Dave,
Your assessment much appreciated. Received set, and based on 62 years collecting Britains, positive I made the right choice. E-Bay these days can be a jungle. Thank you very much and hope you have a Merry Christmas.

Hi Jim,

Hope you will post some better photos once the season slows down. Have a very Merry Christmas as well.

Dave

PS where in Az are you located. I have a home in Sierra Vista that is the fall back position once the kids are grown.

Hi Jim,

Very cool man cave! I have to say I like your collection. The Observation Ballon is great as well as the Zulu War display. I am in the process of reseting my display area and will post some more photos soon. We thought the Army was moving us and it was a lot of work to take down the entire Durbar display and put in all away. I am now unpacking and trying to get my shelf displays thought out so I can display more of my collection. I will keep you posted.

Have a great day

Dave
