Bastion Models Special Commission Hungarians (1 Viewer)

Australian Bob Hume, the founder of Doppel Adler Soldaten, commission three different Hungarian guards sets from Bastion's Andrew Rose in the 1990s. He ordered two of each guards unit; I was able to pick up the second set of each for my friend Bob W., who has an extensive Austro-Hungarian toy soldier collection. These sets are so unique that I thought you would like to see them. The first set is the HUNGARIAN CROWN GUARDS.

Wow! Quite a unique piece, and pretty cool looking, too! As someone with Hungarian grandparents, I would love to find one of those sets as well....

Hi Sandor,

They really are special; Bob W. was really impressed by them. I don't recall seeing them before from any other toy soldier manufacturer. In the future, I could probably get Hiriart to make them, if I could get three or more firm orders. That would go for the other two sets, as well.

P.S. My wife and I were in Budapest last August for the second time in three years. We are also returning in May to start an escorted tour of the Balkans. Great country!

The second set is the HUNGARIAN LIEBGARDE INFANTERIE KOMPAGNIE. Again, like the first set, I have never seen them before this set.

Those are really interesting! Having been to Budapest and seen the Palace there I can picture these men standing guard on the grounds! Thanks for sharing them!
