Hey fellas:

I have seen many taglines commemerating the RAF's glorious thumping of the Luftwaffe- looks like the good weather is coming to an end- any exciting airshows over there commemerating this event? I went to my first airshow at Ocean City Maryland a few years ago- it was very cool and very very loud!! Anyway, curious if anything happened to commemerate the annie.

' Glorious thumping of the Luftwaffe' :D. I think thats how it should be officially known now Chris ;)

Yes there were a few air displays with the anniversary as a backdrop at mainly smaller airfields, and then there was the huge show at Duxford in Cambridge in September which featured Spits,Hurricanes and German aircraft I believe, couldn't make it myself godamit!

The whole summer featured many church services, museum special days, and many many tv docus all celebrating the Glorious thumping and paying respect to the Few of all countries who came to this Island to keep us free.

Have been very happy and proud at how the anniversary was remembered and celebrated this year:cool:

You were there in spirit Rob- after all, you put the "R" in R-A-F :)

There were all sorts of documentaries on this event on the military channel yesterday- it got me to thinking if anything went on over on your side of the pond.

Cheers
