A Jacobite photo to commemorate the 299th Anniversary of the Battle of Glen Shiel. Definitely not a 100% accurate representation of the battle but I enjoyed making it nonetheless.

Very realistic battle scene. Well done. Regards Sapper.

Excellent diorama. Thanks for sharing your work with us. JJD's Jacobite Rebellion is one of my favorite series. I'd love to collect it; if only I won the lottery!

Really, really nice, Sigmundfries.

Like Brendan, if I had the money I would add the Jacobite series as they are some of the most colorful and different work that John is done.
However, I can live a bit through your excellent work. As far as the accuracy is concerned ... so what ... this is all about enjoying the hobby and having fun. I am sure you did in setting this up and "I did" by viewing it.

More would be nice ... {sm4}

Very cool. I was not familiar with the engagement. Need a Rob Roy MacGregor figure!

Sigmund...
it's really nice to see a diorama off the beaten path...
I used to collect these and regret letting them go...
nice job...

Hello Sigmundfries
This scene impresses, compact an full of detail and action. Do you plan to build on/expand this scene?

Perhaps Rob Roy may be added, though there is in some quarters debate about his part/conduct in the battle. Definitely there, on the Jacobite side, were Spanish soldiers from the Regimento numero 3 La Corona , a Galician Regiment,led by Don Nicolás Bolaño. Their white coats with blue facing and breeches would be most noticeable at this engagement. Emilio at Kronprinz may be able help provide suitable figures. If even more colour is wanted one could include the highlanders fighting on the Hanoverian side.
As an aside there is still an area on the site of the battle known as the Pass of the Spaniards.

Great scene. I am inspired to get my JJD Jacobite figures out at the weekend. Did I see a sculpt of bonnie prince Charley recently?

Thank you for your input, Bob! I just set this scene up with the figures we currently have available at Sierra Toy Soldier specifically for the anniversary so unfortunately it's already taken down. As for the Spanish regulars present during the battle, we do have a whole column of those French troops who supported the rebels and I considered putting them in the background as a stand-in for the Spanish. I decided against it because of time constraints and also because I thought that having a row of them in the background would distract the viewer from the very dynamic Jacobites in the foreground. I am fascinated by this period since JJ released this series and I'm making a note to visit a few of these sites in case I ever find myself in Scotland.

This prototype of Bonnie Prince Charlie was shown at the December 2017 London Toy Soldier Show (pic by Gazza).
